J/E Bearing and Machine began with two family members who had experience in machining and saw an opportunity to start their own business. Joe Volkaert Senior and son-in-law Chuck Hendricks started offering machining services and products from a small outlet shop in Tillsonburg, Ontario.
The Big Move
Business was growing and the need for more room became clear. The team at J/E purchased an open lot down the street and built an 8,000 square foot shop.
The Expansion
Only 7 years after the big move, J/E was ready to expand. With a company now of 20 employees, more room was needed to accommodate machinery and staff. A 6,000 square foot expansion was added to the side of the building.
Officially Certified
J/E became ISO: 9001 certified.
The Expansion - Round 2
With a growing customer base, it was clear the company needed to expand once again. J/E almost doubled in size with a 12,000 square foot expansion that increased room for machines, as well as building more office space and a lunch room.
Anniversary
J/E celebrates its 25th anniversary.
The Expansion - Round 3
With Continued growth J/E opened a second facility with 16,000 square feet that included much needed warehousing, assembly and more office space.
Present Day
Today, after 30 years in business, J/E continues to grow as a business and help customers across North America with machining solutions.
